After going to see Tori Amos last night at the Hammersmith Apollo, (which was AWESOME!), I've been in a creative frame of mind. My lovely aunt, who is a musician, has kindly agreed to compose a piece of music for my wedding, but asked me to write a poem for her to base it on. So, here it goes. (I wrote this in my lunchtime, so please don't be too harsh):
October Wedding
Leaves of amber, rouge and vert
Shall be our bridal bower.
Nature's golden graces guard the ground
From frost and fickle weather,
As our love shall shelter us.
The brave red-breasted robin
Shall be our witness;
Faithful bird, building his nest
Against the winter coming,
As we shall build our home.
And snow will come, days will darken,
And night will fall too soon.
But together we will face the cold,
And watch the stars and moon.
Leaves of amber, rouge and vert
Shall be our bridal bower.
Nature's golden graces guard the ground
From frost and fickle weather,
As our love shall shelter us.
The brave red-breasted robin
Shall be our witness;
Faithful bird, building his nest
Against the winter coming,
As we shall build our home.
And snow will come, days will darken,
And night will fall too soon.
But together we will face the cold,
And watch the stars and moon.
